19 players came out to enjoy a couple rounds of disc golf together.  We played Farmington and Sunset, even though recent road construction at Farmington made hole 4 unplayable.  We just skipped hole 4 and played hole 1 twice.

Seven players competed in the scratch division and a dozen players played handicap.  Jon Upchurch took top scratch honors with a 54 at Farmington and a blazing 45 at Sunset for a total score of 99.  This was Jon’s first time playing the Rocky Mount Singles, so I hope he enjoyed himself.  Rick Richmond took second with a combined 102 and Brian Spencer carded a 105 to take third.

On the handicapped side, Tim Hux took the top prize with an adjusted score of 101.2.  Greg Harris took second (just 0.4 behind with a 101.6) and Lynn Driver finished third with a 101.92.  Sonny Finger took the top scratch prize in the handicapped division with a scratch 102 (only good enough for fifth after the handicapped adjustment though).

Ricky Holcomb hit a beautiful skip ace on Sunset hole # 2 to take home the Ace Pool.  Only worth $22, but it really was a lovely ace.  The Ace Pool now starts over at $0 again.  Next monthly singles will be August 7th.  In August we are scheduled to play round 1 at Farmington and round 2 at Englewood.
